Olağanüstü (ō län ōōs tōō) is an unusual name for a CD. However, in an age where music can be shared not just with local but global audiences through social media, this one-word comment was posted on an AYHE performance video of the piece "Pavane" on the social media site YouTube. Upon some research, we discovered the word was Turkish for ‘extraordinary,’ ‘marvelous,’ ‘incredible,’ ‘magnificent,’ ‘splendid,’ ‘rare’ and ‘sublime.’ What a perfect word to describe the American Youth Harp Ensemble! This special word demonstrates the Ensemble's global appeal and how music is a universally shared experience. Thus the name for this CD was born. Enjoy!

This spectacular CD includes classical, modern, pop, and Spanish music, as well as West Side Story, an arrangement commissioned by the AYHE.
