Introduction to Improvisation and Jazz for Classical Musicians
A brief lecture on the history of the Jazz art form. All musicians will learn the basics of improvisation on their instruments by use of the blues-scale. Conducting
Learn basic skills of conducting and leading an ensemble. Students will prepare a short score while conducting their peers. Students will be videotaped so they can view and review their progress. Orchestra Skills
Students will gain insights into orchestral playing from orchestral harpists as well as a professional conductor during this informative session. Practical Seminar for the Music Student
Information will be given regarding careers in music and places for further study. The Gig Harpist
The business aspects of music will be explored, with its resources and realities. Students will develop a wedding repertoire list and book, individualized contracts, marketing strategies and other practical components of a professional harpist. Harp Therapy Overview
