Focus on the Harp

Students will spend lots of time with the harp, including group and individual attention, coaching and practice time.

Harp Ensemble
Intensive time will be devoted to harp ensemble literature in preparation for a concert at the end of the Institute. A favorite class year after year, students have great fun while learning the necessary skills for ensemble playing.

Individual Attention
Private instruction is a crucial element in the proper development of a player’s skills. Students will have the opportunity to work individually with one of our master teachers.

Coaching
Students will have the opportunity to work in chamber (small) ensembles with a faculty coach. Students may also chose to use their time with a faculty coach for guidance in the preparation of orchestral parts or recital repertoire.

Individual Practice Time
Each student will be given an opportunity for uninterrupted individual practice time. Practice techniques and strategies are incorporated into all aspects of instruction, students can utilize these methods during their practice to learn how to maximize their time.
